Constructivism

Artistic and Architectural Movement in Russia from 1919 onward post WW1 particularly the Corner counter reliefs of Vladimir Tatlin.  The term itself was coined by sculptors Antoine Pevsner and Naum Gabo. These men developed an industrial, abstract, angular approach to their work.

Vladimir Tatlin, on a journey to Paris 1913 discovered Braque and Picasso,  back in Russsia he began producing sculptures out of Assemblages and abandoning any references to precise subjects or themes. These works marked the appearence of Constuctism, a term within the fields of painting and sculpture and especially conjoined artists and their art with machine production and architecture and the applied arts.

Tatlins Tower, the monument of the 3rd international was to be built from industrial materials Iron ,Glass, and Steel. With the materials used its function was to envisage a towering symbol of Modernity.
